Several efforts have been made in recent years to coordinate data collection on post-school outcomes across agencies, but complexities continue to present barriers. This was the first statewide comprehensive post-school survey conducted by New Mexico, and it is anticipated that the value of this information will stimulate further efforts to collaborate on data sharing among agencies to evaluate student outcomes.
Indicator 1: Data is collected on students with IEPs in general education and those with IEPs on type of diploma, comparison will be included in the final post-school outcomes report; Indicator 2: Data on dropouts is collected, but currently limited by definitions. This will be addressed next year; Indicator 13: A statewide file review using sampling techniques was conducted to collect data on coordinated measurable IEP goals and transition activities. A synoposis of agregated results will be included in the post-school outcomes final report.
We appreciate your technical assistance and prompt response to questions. The community of Practice Teleconferences are very helpful in gaining perspectives on other states. Excellent conference in Portland last spring, unable to attend in Denver, but hope you have another scheduled soon.
